Once Possessed explores the ownership and history of these found dolls. Having an interest in the paranormal and inspired by the story of “Annabelle”, a doll believed to be possessed by the spirit of a seven year old girl. I began to wonder if these dolls contain the spirit or soul of the children that once owned them.

 

Walking thru shops I see these faces staring at me, their eyes beckon and pull me in seeming so real. What joy and sorrow have they seen? Who owned them?

 

These images attempt to capture the depth of expressiveness in those eyes. At once glass or plastic but real and glaring. Do we project our own feels, desires or fears onto them? If so, do they follow the doll onto the next owner.
